Idiot proofing

Still Standing has been damaged while on display at the Cotswold Sculpture Park. Some deviant decided to see how far they could push it, causing the top piece to fall onto the base and dent it. The curator has added a big sign beside it to say "Do not touch," but I will be removing the piece: one, to repair it, and two, to try and make it idiot-proof. I will have to cut a hole in the base so I can gain access to the dent and hopefully be able to bang it out; if not, it will require a new base. It will not be possible to replace one panel as it will distort like crazy. The way the bases are made requires tacking all the pieces together and then welding little by little, working around the entire base evenly and slowly allowing the heat to dissipate.
As for the actual sculpture, a redesign of the mechanism will be required. It had been on test throughout the winter and it has never had a problem, and I had not foreseen the human interaction problem. I know people can't leave them alone, but most people are respectful when they touch them and just give them a gentle nudge. This has also led to me having to rethink the latest dragon sculpture, as that could be pushed off its plinth. So, I need to think of a way of securing it enough to restrict its movement just enough so it has the freedom to rock back and forth, but not enough that it can be pushed over.
