Chaotic Symmetry has a mesmerising movement, responding to even the slightest breath of wind. Whether it's a gentle breeze or a violent gust, it spins in completely random directions, creating an ever-changing display that is both captivating and unpredictable. No two movements are ever the same, making each moment unique. In the sunshine, it casts beautiful reflections and ever-shifting shadows around the garden, adding another dimension to its constantly changing presence.
Inspiration
The inspiration for Chaotic Symmetry came during a day out riding my motorbike. As I rode, I found myself looking at road signs and wondering if they could be animated. Would they look good? Would people actually want one?
Then I spotted a chevron sign marking a bend in the road and immediately thought it had real potential. Later that day, I pulled out my sketchpad and started doodling ideas. Although the original inspiration was the familiar black-and-white rectangular chevron sign, the concept gradually evolved into something quite different. After refining the design, this is the version that eventually made its way into CAD.
