The movement of these is simple rotation, they gently turn in the wind. The larger one turns in a gentle breeze whereas the smaller needs a slightly stronger wind as it has less surface area and is lower to the ground so sheltered by my fence and sheds but in an open space or larger garden they will both turn freely in a gentle breeze.
Inspiration
The inspiration for the Twisted Sisters came from looking at a lot of stone carvings, it was not meant to be a kinetic piece but once finished it felt right to have the option, if it is preferred it is very easy to have it as a stationary piece. I plan to make it in various sizes and even finishes. I might even make a rusty one. They were both very challenging to make, the larger one is narrower and was easier to bend but distorted more than I had hoped so I was unable to polish it. The smaller one I made fatter and it was really hard to form but distortion was less so I was able to polish it.
