Silvi and I have just come back from probably the last festival this year in Suffolk.
We had a great weekend with great company, good bands, and good weather. I got to catch up with an old friend who lives out that way and whom I rarely get to see.
Of course, we drank too much and had too many late nights. But life is short; you have to make the most of what we have left. Got back home and checked my emails only to find I have been invited to exhibit my sculptures at https://www.doddingtonhall.com/ next year. I have no idea where or how they found me, and out of curiosity, I have asked. But even so, feeling very proud of myself this year and how far I have come with my art. This is my first year selling my work. And although I have paid more in commission than I have made in profit, I feel it is a good start.
Two sales and two commissions, also won a place to exhibit at Carfest. We have still not heard who has won the best in show. I am not even sure it matters. No, that is not true; of course, it matters. Who am I trying to kid?
We might have to go to a few less festivals next year and grow up a little and promote my art. Either way, loving life, loving retirement. Long may it continue.
