The new dragon is coming along, the wings were an absolute pain to make and I have no idea how to finish them yet. I decided to MIG weld them together on the top seam as I wanted to build up a fillet of weld to make it look like gnarly joints. Regretting that now as MIG is so messy on stainless steel and it has left a lot of spatter all over the wings which I will have to grind off. And I am also not that sure it looks good so might run over them with the TIG torch anyway.

Trying to get a good grind pattern on them is probably the best way forward. I certainly do not want to polish them. Not sure yet though. I have tacked the wings on just to see what they look like, thinking they may need to go a little higher up on the body.

So I am nearly ready for the scales, a tedious job TIG welding them on and a job where a third hand would be useful. Definitely not using MIG even though that is easier as you only need one hand to weld and can use the other to hold the scale in place, but I do not want weld spatter on the scales. Damn near impossible to clean them once welded.

I still haven't decided how to mount it or even what to mount it on. I have a few ideas. I think I need to go drink a few beers and decide what it will be.
