I was feeling pretty good after being told I had made my first sale at the Cotswold Sculpture Park. I was looking forward to having a little bit of cash back from all these years of spend, spend, spend. However, I have still not received the funds. I was also asked to supply a replacement for the sculpture park, which regretfully I did.
Challenges with the Replacement
As I was already making a second Eternal Flame for the Altered States exhibition, I was not keen on making a third due to the outlay on materials. But I did, and the CSP still hasn't paid me. They say they do not want the replacement until the buyer collects it. This situation has been frustrating, to say the least.
Upcoming Exhibitions
I have applied to put Celestial Fury on display at Carfest in August. They are looking for six local artists to showcase their work on one of their six stands. I am currently awaiting the judging results. I should hear back by the 14th of July.
In addition, I have everything ready for the Altered States exhibition as well. I will be delivering my pieces on the 30th of July. Celestial Fury is prepared on a portable stand, making it easy to transport.
New Opportunities
A couple of days ago, I was contacted by Jay Wilson, who invited me to join the Artisan Collective. This sounds like an amazing opportunity to get my name and work out there. Being part of this collective could open many doors for me and help me connect with other artists and potential buyers.
Inspiration for New Projects
This new opportunity has lifted me out of my slump. I have decided to start on another dragon sculpture. This time, it will be far more detailed and realistic. Can a dragon be realistic, given that it is a mythical creature? I am making it out of metal from my failed sculptures that have been gathering dust.
I have just started on the claws and legs using the steel from an old chassis that didn't work. The process of recycling materials not only helps the environment but also adds a unique character to my work.
Work in Progress
So, pop along to my WIP page and have a look. You can see the transformation of materials into art. It's a journey that I am excited to share with everyone.

Conclusion
In conclusion, while there have been challenges, I am optimistic about the future. The upcoming exhibitions and the opportunity with the Artisan Collective have reignited my passion for sculpture. I look forward to sharing my new creations with the world.
