The Storm Chaser or Storm Catcher.

The Storm Chaser/Catcher, still undecided on the name, my latest and most ambitious project to date, is based on the smaller lighter Vortex Mk1 and Mk2. The Storm Chaser is a kinetic weathervane/sculpture, it tracks the wind in a mesmerising way. This has been made entirely from 316 stainless steel so that it can live out its life in the harshest of conditions. There are 397 component parts to this build and it weighs about 55 kg.

Each spinner consists of two sealed stainless steel bearings with two extra seals to ensure it can live out its life even on the coast. And typical as ever there is no wind to get a video of it working, o we will all just have to wait and see.
